Crystal plans for Christmas!
December 17th 2008 09:06
I am just so late with this post and I am so sorry. Now that we are married the time seems to fly. I've nothing much to report except that we are totally pre-occupied with Christmas.
I managed to get Andrew a really nice fishing rod with some extras, I thought it would be really good if he caught some fish when he goes up to the farm, there's bound to be some fishing holes up around that way, surely.
I didn't know where to hide it, so I asked my next door neighbour to keep it for me, and I'll really have to be careful about the wrapping, I don't want Andrew to guess what it is before he opens it.
Guess who had to do all the Christmas shopping even though things have settled down for Andrew at work.
I must say we are having some very haphazard meals, but I did get in plenty of supplies and have told Andrew he must pull his weight a bit more.
Mornings are always such a rush and I'm finding being married is just so different from being single.
Anyway, we've started wrapping the presents and Andrew is clumsily making an effort but he thinks Christmas paper and sticky tape and a card does just fine nothing fancy about my Andrew.
So I really do leave him with the basics and I add the extra touches.
To-night I am going to start the cards to be sent and as it's our first joint effort we are being rather slow about it, working out his relatives and friends and looking up addresses and then adding mine. We really do need to get a move on as time is fast running out and we've already received a lot of ours.
On the weekend Andrew went out and got a tree, it's a beauty if a little big for just two people, but it is our first Christmas together and we want it to be very special.
We're visiting for the big celebrations so at least I don't have to worry about food too much.
Tinkerbelle is having great fun with the paper and other things we leave lying around and although she is very entertaining with her antics they can be quite disruptive.
She has her own little supply of presents so that should be fun on the day.
As things stand it looks like she'll be the focus of our attention. She still believes in Santa would you believe and so incidentally do I.
Musn't spoil the illusions if one looks forward to lots of presents.
I've had great fun filling a stocking for Andrew but it is a BIG secret, I doubt whether he'll do the same for me. Not worth the trouble to throw out any hints, he'd be lost.
Work is going well for both of us but other things are causing quite a dilemma, I guess we'll muddle along until after Christmas and after that we'll have to start getting more organized, how slow some folks seem to be with managing a household and I'm afraid those folks include Andrew and me.
Well we are just about to start our Chrissy chores so I'll wish all of you a wonderful Christmas with lots of good cheer and family gatherings.
So until my next post then which I'll try to do before the year 2009.
