Crystal gets Lucky!

You know I really did feel a bit left out on Valentine's day.
It's funny, every other year I haven't paid it any attention at all but this year I tended to be acutely aware of it. Other people getting flowers and single roses, chocolates and teddy bears and balloons, but what did I get. Zilch, of course I wasn't expecting anything so I don't know why it worried me and lots of others had great plans and were happy, even the single ones. And I was happy for them.
Anyway, to-day it was business as usual, and half the staff looking bombed out of their minds, but for me, life just goes on.
About morning tea time I had an unexpected visitor.
"Mind if I come in?", he asked, it was Andrew from Finance, the only time we tended to see him was when there was a major financial issue.
He came in and sat down. I've known him for a few years but really quite superficially, and during my 'shy' years. We'd crossed paths at a few company social functions, meetings etc but neither of us had ever displayed any interest in the other.
I noticed he was looking at me differently, I have been leaving my hair loose and dressing in a more feminine fashion and I couldn't help but notice the admiration in his eyes.
He came straight to the point ( I don't know how word gets around but it does. )
"What are you doing on the weekend"
I was rather taken aback.
"Well I've been thinking I might take myself to the art gallery and perhaps to Centennial Park or one of the beaches".
"With anyone I know" he asked.
I laughed, "no, I don't think so and actually I am going on my own."
"Would there be any chance you might like to do something else?
I laughed again.
"How about tonight?"
"Why, what did you have in mind"
"What say I pick you up from your home about 8 and we'll go out to dinner"
"This is rather sudden and unepected" I replied.
"Well that's me" and now it was his turn to laugh.
So, tonight I'm going out to dinner and to-morrow he's taking me up to have a look at his small hobby farm. I guess the Art Gallery can wait.
What a strange turn of events, I guess I got lucky all of a sudden. What do you think?

I hadn't realised that you were definitely not seeing Jim any more.
Hope you had a lovely time at dinner.
