Crystal feels "she who hesitates is lost."

finding a mate
cookery classes

Well I had a good day at work, coped with traffic on the way home and Tinkerbelle and I are enjoying each other's company.

I've strolled around the garden and kitty and I have eaten, take away barbecued chicken and a nice salad I prepared with my own wee hands. Ice cream and tinned peaches. Not bad, and no complaints from Tinkerbelle.

Tomorrow night Steve and I are having a drink together after work and hopefully he'll suggest something for the weekend. I'm definitely going to find out some more about him. Top priority.

But, I've enrolled in a 6 week cookery class, just the basics, on a Saturday morning, that seeming to be the closest I could get and the most elementary, I don't think there'll ever be much gourmet cooking done in this house.

I feel relaxed and happy and every Wednesday I'm going along to an hour long class at the local community centre called relationship skills and finding a partner. I wonder what that will be like but I guess I have to go to find out.

Really, surely it is not all that difficult, bees do it, birds do it, sort of thing. Somehow I think a lot of other species know more about life than we do. The most important function for them is to reproduce themselves and I think that's true for us too, but 13 -14 children in a lifetime does seem a little daunting.

So now, while kitty's asleep I'm going to have a look at my basic cookery book and I'm quite determined I am going to practice doing a soft boiled egg and a hard boiled egg, if it's not in the book I'll look it up on the internet.

Everything is beautiful, in its own way, don't you think?

Great post Crystal, I particularly love the pictures of the birds. Being decisive and seizing opportunities is great advice, and an attitude that I too am trying to implement. I've missed out on many things through hesitation - I don't want to do that anymore, even though it is quite scary at times.

You must have had eggs for breakfast this morning Michaelie!

Good luck Crystal. I like cooking but too lazy to do more than just pasta and sauce at the moment. I hope you find the cooking class and the relationship seminar both useful!

Nina, I wish I could help, you seem far too nice to be missing out on anything, but it is good to identify problems and it's wonderful that you should share with us.

Michaelie, I loved your egg joke, could I say 'well done' or sunny side up perhaps,

Kylie, every man likes a good cook. With me it'll have to be simple. It's really nice hearing about what people like to do.
