What do you HATE to do at home?
February 21st 2008 09:52
I've not been back from ballet for long and I've just put a stew on. It's all in one pot so it's easy and I'll freeze half of it so that I'll not need to cook after work one night.
Andrew has been ringing and we've been sharing some happy memories on the phone and planning without planning (if you know what I mean) our week end.
So far we haven't come up with any bright ideas but he wants to spend some time on his farm, which I don't mind his doing, It's just that I don't want to do that again so soon.
Anyway our weekend will start Friday night and we thought we'd go to the movies, which one we haven't yet decided but I'm sure that, together, we'll think of something.
It's really lovely to have another boyfriend so soon, I think I've been very lucky. It's early days yet of course and I think we need to take some time getting to know one another.
It was interesting to read other people's thoughts about what they love doing at home.
My mum just loves being a mother and takes on board all the domestic chores but dad does the heavy work and attends to the cars and the garden.
It's really quite funny because dad won't pay to have the lawns mowed but he doesn't like doing it himself. So every time the grass needs mowing there's a shouting match and mum really gets mad. She says if dad insists on doing it himself rather than paying someone he should get on and do it. Anyway, there's always this big row and then dad finally goes out and does it.
He's really very strange about it all, so I guess he hates doing the grass and mum hates having to yell at him to get on and do it.
He also leaves all the family responsibilites to mum but allows himself to be drawn in every now and again to give his advice on some family matter, which he always addresses from his own point of view.
These things have been going on for so many years now, none of us take any notice.
I don't mind doing my housework and the garden is done for me but I'm not too sure how I'll feel about housework when I'm married and trying to manage children as well. Some women are amazing of course but I do not think I am one of those women.
If Jim was any example I'd have to say I hate picking up and cleaning up after other adults when they are quite capable of doing it themselves, I hate being treated like a servant.
So what is it that you hate doing at home. Maybe you hate having to entertain, I'm not just asking about chores, I hope you understand.

I'm not paranoid, but I think the little robotic machine of crap is out to get me...

A call here or there would be ok, but there are so many, they take up too much of my life.

Tracy, love the sound of that robotic monster with evil intent, do you think it could be an alien in disguise? Sounds like something up market. You expressed it so well, good excuse for not attending to that chore, eh? Perhaps your husband would like to do it??????
Rosemary, I’m sure you’ll be joined by many friends on that one, do you think HATE is a strong enough word?

Yes, vacuuming is definitely my husband's job... I think it gives the neighbours a rest from my moaning...
