Crystal returns after a good holiday.
January 6th 2008 07:17
Hello, everyone, the holiday is all but over and I've missed my blogging although I feel so silly the things I say sometimes.
Jim and I had a great time and a great Christmas and a very expensive New Year on the foreshores of the Harbour at the Opera House at a special dinner. It was wonderful, Jim has more money than he has sense so we had a lovely time.
I just love Sydney Harbour and Jim and I went on one of those Harbour Bridge climbs, it was worth the effort, as when we got to the top the views were spectacular, despite the strong breeze, it would not do to get blown away, although, metaphorically speaking we were.
Christmas worked out well for everyone and I made Jim feel very guilty about his mother who I have now met. He's going to do something to help her so that is good, sons can be very inconsiderate at times, especially when there has been no father around. One sometimes wonders what they think with, no, don't say it, that's obscene.
So talking about feelings, how do you feel about inconsiderate children or in fact are YOU one?
They look after us so well when no-one else wants the job and often get scarce thanks for it later. I think that is wrong.
I feel wonderful, but I guess one always does when one is having a good holiday.
But, good times do not last for ever, how did you spend your holidays?
My mum did Christmas as always and I actually got up and helped her, she nearly went into shock and she was very surprised now she's found out I can do a nice little salad. The rest of my family were hard pressed looking after the children, they are all still quite young, only their parents could love them, you know how the saying goes.
But now I'm winding down and I'm really so very tired. Reaction, I guess but you would think I'd be as bright as a button.
I think I had a bit too much of the good life, too much food, the party seems to go on and on and although I did some walking and swimming I still ate an awful lot.
This year I've decided to go back to ballet class once or twice a week, I love it, and it's very good for the figure, and now I find I have stacked on a few inches and kilos.
That does not make me feel good.
Don't you just hate it when that happens?
I look forward to seeing everyone but I understand I'm in debt with my replies so I'll catch up as soon as I can. Jim is bound to want to go out somewhere soon, this last night and I think I'd rather like that too.
So, everone, how are you all FEELING?
PS. I earned 3c for my work while I was away, I think it will be a struggle to get to $100. I'll not allow for it in my budget.

I think this modern generation acts very cruelly towards their parents and not all parents are ideall but without parents life would not go on and we can learn from the animal kingdom, to whose defence we are always running, we are animals too but MAN has a cerebral cortex with which to think and I think we need to start valuing our parents more, I find the way some people talk about their parents is quite disgusting and it makes me wonder if they should have been drowned at birth like an unwanted kitten, but whoever would have thought we'd breed a generation of disrespectful, greedy, selfish children, that's what I think.
Sorry but I love holidays and I'm pleased you enjoyed yours. You and Jim seem to be getting on just fine together.

I must admit I am not the greatest of all daughters myself. Although I do do my share when it comes to visiting and helping out with things. I just hate it when I am made that I HAVE to love or do certain things for my parents simply because they are my parents.
I didn't grow up with my parents so there is a level of emotional distance from me to them - but when I refuse to do everything for them like a good Asian daughter should, I get the lecture that I am a disgraceful daughter.
Never mind - don't want to darken this happy blog

I am a wonderful daughter of course, but then I have wonderful parents who give me all the guidence I want but who understand that my life is my own to live. They are great fun and very supportive no matter what I do, and I miss them a lot when I go months without seeing them.
But I have spent the holidays with them and it was really great. My brothers were about the place too so it was a bit like when we were kids, ie. we fought like cats and dogs, and had a lot of fun doing it!

Actually, Krystal, I am very pleased things (apparently) went well. Welcome back from your Holidays.

I understand what you're saying, my granny has always taught me that life is a precious gift and that unlike other animal babies we humans are utterly dependent on our parents for years, most make mistakes, but they have given us this precious gift of life, for which we should be thankful and respectful.
They cared for us generally when no-one else would, they didn't abort us and without parents life on earth for humans could not go on, even animals are like that but they become independent very early.
This is not rebuking you as you seem to do wonders given all your circumstances but I think the gift of life is not given easily and it makes our parents so much happier if we do love them and don't neglect them.
This must be a very sensitive issue for you, it is wonderful that you have shared just a little with us.
