Crystal's kitty's cat run and the landscape gardener.

Amethyst Crystal

Just by way of introduction there are some wonderful crystals there, so beautiful.

Well, my landscape gardener came and we designed my cat run together. He loved my garden and realized I did not want to detract from it and he just couldn't believe how fresh and beautiful my tulips were. I explained I had a gardener come in once a week and subject to discussions with me he looked after all the details, the buying and the hard work.

We decided a cat door in the side door leading out to the right of the house which was relatively narrow but larger than most side entrances would be the best place. I said I wanted it to be as unobtrusive as possible. Together we decided that we should have a slanting roof of mesh sloping up from the fence so it would not annoy my neighbours but would still allow adults to walk through it. He said if I grew some pretty vines over it which would either be in flower or green leafed through all seasons it would barely be noticeable.

Mine will be in the wooden side door and much nicer

I let him know that I wanted some garden down the side with some dirt so the cat could go out there rather than having kitty litter in the house which I found quite awful. He seemed very understanding but, at the same time he was quite pricey.

The run would go through to the rest of the garden but just to one side and would swing around across the back fence opening up into a wider circle. When I had guests or needed space there would be hinged areas that could be opened and the structure folded back so it would barely be noticeable, meanwhile the cat could enjoy itself outside whenever it wanted. He said he'd arrange a couple of trees and other things so the cat would have things to climb on and scratch. It all sounded ideal and he assured me it would be aesthetically pleasing. There were certain advantages attached to having a large income I was learning whether one liked the way one earned it or not..

He said he'd have to get someone to do the cat door, an experienced carpenter and there would be no point in proceeding until he was available but he appointed out that things nowadays moved very quickly as people did not want delays.

He'd organise all the plants and after that my gardener could look after the area. It would be a good six months before sufficient growth occurred to give it the secluded look I wanted.

We agreed on the price which did seem pretty steep but as I did not want to be doing things myself I agreed readily enough. He said he'd notify me when they were ready to go which would be at short notice.

I said I'd need to take time off work so he must be prepared to proceed as quickly as possible.

He said not to worry as he knew what I wanted and his price allowed him to do that instead of penny pinching by squeezing jobs in between other jobs which generally led to the problems I feared.

So next week it would be some sick leave, and I felt good about that. I was doing something for me for once and I knew I gave good value at work quite irrespective of my generous salary.

So now, pussy is sleeping, she'd paid a lot of attnetion to what was going on and had had a good run and play outside, chasing leaves and acting generally scatty and I had loved every minute of watching her.

So I thought I'd write this up now and that way there would not be such a rush in the morning.

Blogging is not my life's work but I am enjoying it and reading what other people have to say.
Things seem to move very fast on Orble.

Now I need to find some nice pictures and that will be it. Please let me know what you think. I was going to write more on love today but it will have to wait until tomorrow. I feel so happy with my new plans.

A lovely post, Krystal, I felt as if I were right there with you, doing all that planning. You have a lovely garden and the cat run seems as if it will be just what the 'cat' ordered. Lovely crystals.
