Crystal and Andrew settle in to married life
December 2nd 2008 08:56
How quickly time goes by, I feel as if I've been married forever.
At least Andrew does not, now, sleep all the time he is at home, which, I must say is something of a relief.
You know we can afford and are happy to pay quite a variety of people to free us from burdensome chores. But I still notice by the time we get home from work, recover, eat, watch some TV there is very little time for anything else.
Our walking plans have fallen by the wayside, and I feel bad about that as I know how important exercise is for sedentary workers. I can understand why people go to classes, at least it gets you up and going.
However, now that things have settled down with Andrew's work we should be able to work out some sort of plan.
I've decided we must eat healthier food but Andrew's idea of helping with meal preparation and disposing of dishes is to order in a take away and eat out of the containers.
I keep reminding him that this is no good for the environment, too much waste disposal and it is not at all good for our internal environment.
So, take away only once a week is now the target.
Andrew does not like shopping, so that leaves me. But shopping for two is not so easy as shopping for one I am finding out.
Just as well we love each other and enjoy each other's company or else I think we'd be having a lot of rows and that simply would not do.
It's funny, before we got married I gave little thought to what it would be like afterwards. And as for Andrew sex was mostly what he thought about and now that he has that ( when he's awake ) he is totally happy. The lazy thing.
I'm really glad I have, for me anyway, an easy job, which although it requires a high level of skill and University training, I am, in fact used to it by now, and I don't have too many hassles with people as mostly I work on my own.
I've been giving some thought about what it must be like for others and it must cause a lot of stress for people.
I'd ask you what you think, but as I post so infrequently and had a month off for the honeymoon, I find I now have very few visitors but my external readers might like to give this some thought.
I guess I'll see you all in a week's time and I'll try to have some questions ready for us to explore.
For now, it's do the dishes and off to bed, when I can drag Andrew away from the TV.
Are all men like this?

It was a lovely surprise, and I'm all for learning a few tricks to get Andrew to help a bit more. He really is slack in some ways.
I guess there are always sacrifices to be made, generally by the little woman if you ask me.
Thanks so much for calling by.
