What do you give for an engagement present to someone who has everything?
September 14th 2008 09:20
Well the engagement party was a roaring success as are all mother's parties and dad is always good at getting the jokes flowing and Andrew and I certainly bore the brunt of those.
And you've guessed it, everyone thought we already had everything we could possibly want so many of the gifts carried with them a humorous flair, from a garden shovel, accompanied by great mirth and speculation as to who of the two of us would be doing any gardening to some barbecue tools.
We were forced to bear it all good naturedly and really it was quite funny.
And they were right, we really did not need presents or even money and the wedding gifts were going to be an even greater problem.
I did receive quite a few novel items for the kitchen and really had to laugh when they gave Tinkerbelle a new fancy bowl, and is that Andrew and I there do you think?
But the food was delicious, the music great and really I think a good time was had by all.
So that is just one more step along the way to our fast galloping up wedding day, and although I am looking forward to it and things have now started to progress well may I urge all the rest of you to take things a little more slowly, as rushing things is really very stressful indeed.
I can understand why couples just run off to Gretna Green.
But, again, I pose the question, just what do you give for presents to people who appear to have everything?

But Lord and Lady Krystal, don't you think Andrew would feel just a touch emasculated by that description. Not that I am going to tell him, of course.
When I write my next post in about 2 months time I shall be Mrs. Andrew, that's enough for me, I am just so excited, but so very, very, weary, I wonder if all brides to be feel like this.
