Our first married Christmas

December 8th 2008 11:46
Crystal's Christmas

It is so thrilling to think that this is our first Christmas together as man and wife, well, in fact we didn't even know each other last Christmas and so much has happened in under a year and you know it is now almost 12 months that I have been blogging.

What a lot has happened since then.

We're going to decorate the house of course and will be having a large fresh tree, I really do not like those plastic substitutes.

I spent most of the weekend shopping and Andrew went off to his beloved farm.

I have bought all sorts of decorations and baubles for the tree, it is really so exciting.

I don't know what to buy Andrew, maybe a nice fishing rod would be a nice change, I'm sure he'll be able to find somewhere suitable either on the farm or close by.

I think I'd like some more crystals but I don't know whether Andrew is capable of thinking of that without some good solid hints.

I've bought Tinkerbelle some things to put under the tree so we'll at least have someone to share our Christmas morning with, before we go off to Mother's for Christmas Dinner and we'll call into Andrew's mother's place later on in the day.

Naturally I didn't do the regular shopping on the weekend, I'm trying to teach Andrew that he'll have to help but I haven't had much luck yet, all these things that didn't even occur to us as part of married 'bliss'

To-night he arrived home with a Pizza, as his contribution, I'm afraid my new husband is turning into something of a slow learner, I guess there are a lot of guys like that, don't you think?

We'll have to go shopping together to buy presents for family members, Andrew has confessed he doesn't usually buy anything, even for his parents, he's rather slack like that. But things are going to change, or my name is not Crystal.

At least he is not now putting in those exhausting hours at work, what a muddled life we led for a couple of weeks, it was a sharp learning curve for both of us.

So what did all of you do for your first Christmas in a relationship, and I realize that many of you won't be married, but it is so romantic, there's the rest of your life to be practical.

I'd better sign off now, Andrew has just got out of the shower and he'll be looking for me, it's that time of day.

Sweet dreams, everyone, I'll be on my way.

I must tell him soon about my little blogging adventures.
