Crystal wonders how you feel about renovations and managing a Hobby Farm.

Renovations

Well, Andrew and I are getting on well, and I think I've earned about 10c from this blog, lately, so it's nice to think that when I give up work I'll have some of my own pocket money, although I'm wondering what I can buy for 10c.

Just kidding, I'll have some of my own money when I give up work.

It has surprised me as to how quickly I adapted to a new relationship. It hasn't been long but I really like Andrew.

We didn't spend a lot of time together over the weekend as Andrew wanted to go up to his beloved farm, I was not nearly so enthusiastic. He seems to be taking his time about getting himself organised, how different they can be when they are at work to when they are just socialising.

Mind you I liked the farm, I just didn't want to go up there too often. Men just seem to love to drive, don't they?

This weekend Andrew is going to take me over to his place. He has warned me that he bought his run down property with great expectations but found out he wasn't much of a renovator. I'm wondering just what to expect. He looks so immaculate at work it rather gives the impression that he would be like that in the rest of his life. Apparently he is not so.

He has a quiet sense of humour in comparison with Jim and not nearly such a flamboyant personality although he certainly knows how to woo a woman. He took me completely by surprise, really.

I'm wondering if any of you have done much renovating and if you have any interests in a farm, I really just don't know what to expect.

What I do know is that Andrew has a serious turn of mind and I really like that. He has his eye firmly set on the future but I can't help wondering if it's his future or ours.

So how do you feel about renovations and running a hobby farm, I'm just wondering because I hadn't thought about it much before.

Hobby farms, great fun. Always something different to do. Learning all the time as you go along. Lots of quiet places. Getting back to basics.

Hope your blog makes some $ soon

I've wanted a hobby farm for many years now.
Its a big dream for me and my partner.

We live near the beach, so it'd have to have a pool, because its impossible to pay that much for land near the coast here.

Horses, a goat, a pig, some chooks, dogs
Awesome.

That Hobby farm sounds like a great idea, but maybe you would not want to live there.

Krystal,

I moved off of one about five years ago to come back to 'civilisation,' which (no joke) seems so slow incomparison to living in the country.

I think it is a blessing to experience this type of country-lifestyle during any lifetime and the lessons and wisdom gained, never lost... It may not always be 'easy' but I guarantee you will have a mountain of fun and learn much about yourself along the way.

I wish you well with whatever you decide.

Lilla ...

Rosemary, you must have brought me good luck, I made 63c, I do hope I am not boasting, it seems such a lot, but thanks for the warning about Hobby farms, I love the country but I’m a real city girl and I suspect Andrew is a real city boy, but I think this is something that is going to have to sort itself out really fast, or I’ll be moving off as fast as my legs will carry me.

Michaelie, I’m glad you have some feelings about Hobby farms, couldn’t you perhaps tell us about “a friend of yours” who has feelings about a hobby farm”, sorry they are so complex, I’m fast beginning to think complex is the way to go.

Tammy, I think you’re a natural and I suspect I’m an unnatural although I do appreciate the country ( in small doses) I don’t think I have that sort of stamina and I think Andrew has bitten off more than he can chew. But I do love your little animal tales.

Jarrah, love the animals, but I think I’m a city slicker thru and thru, but it sounds really great for you and your partner as you seem well connected that way.

Techno, I think you’ve got it right I do NOT want to live there.

Louie, you and I are in total agreement on this one. A little decoration around the house is one thing, entire renovation, especially do it yourself ones something else again.

Lilla, I think I’d be learning so much about myself that not even ‘I’ could tolerate it, it is really in the too hard basket for me, I’m afraid.

And Norm, you’re so sweet, and with a real sense of humour too and you really do have such an interesting face, good for comedy, so they say. But I think it is lovely that a man has come over to share his feelings with us, and they are just so similar to Michaelie’s, how coincidental?

Yes, I think you’ve all helped me to define just where I sit with Hobby farms and do it yourself renovations too.

Thanks for calling by everyone.

I'm sensing hostile feelings.
How incidental.

Nothing hostile Norm, just having fun. Love the way you express things, very quick, very clever.
